Wet cooling systems - Cooling towers

 
The cooling water that is heated in the surface condenser of a power plant is atomized in the cooling tower and dispersed over large surfaces so that evaporation occurs.  The required air flow is created either through natural draft in high stacks or through the installation of fans (forced air circulation).
